Fourth of July Weekend Festivities

Mimi and Papa (Kyle's parents) came into town for the 4th! This was the first time in a while that he and I didn't just dump the kids on them and take-off for a weekend alone :)

It was so wonderful to get to do new fun things (with all of the extra hands) and see them interact with their grandparents.

We started off with a neighborhood parade. It was really more of a "neighborhood walk" considering there were no spectators :)

Davis (red), Carter (blue), Evan (white)

They love riding in their wagon and having their own space.

After that we cooled down inside with new books from Mimi & Papa...

...mooched off of Mimi's plate...

...and then rough-housed with Papa!

The next day we went to the neighborhood pool for the first time. The boys had a blast in water.

The pool arealooks like a resort and has beautiful Hill Country views.

After this, we were worn out for the rest of the weekend.

Doin' Our Own Thang

Although difficult to execute, we are trying to give the boys some alone time. A few weekends ago (I know I am behind on my blogging), Kyle, Gigi, and myself each took a kid.

Carter went to Gigi's house and played in the fish pond, ate popcorn and watched movies.

Evan and Daddy went to Home Depot and to McDonalds for cookies and fruit of all things (that is Evan's favorite).

Davis and I went to Henry's 3rd birthday party. Henry is the nephew of our beloved babysitter and lives here in our neighborhood. Davis loved every minute of it...especially the hot dogs and cake. He seems to really enjoy other kids as well and there were some cuties there.

This week, I am going to try to do a separate post about each of our little guys...they are very complex beings and we need to delve further into their individual personalities :)

Busted

So our rough and tumble little bruiser gave us a major panic Sunday. We were all getting ready to go out grocery shopping, when we heard a very loud THUD in the play room. We rushed in to see Carter screaming and blood starting to pour from his forehead. Kyle swooped him up and after seeing more and more blood we called 911. (that is an experience!)

Anyway, EMS came and bandaged him up and said he would need stitches. He had about an inch long gash straight down his forehead. Gigi thankfully rushed over to watch Davis & Evan while Kyle and I took Carter to the ER.

We went to the hospital that I went to when I passed out in my friend Shannon's car while 20 weeks pregnant. The same one that 2 weeks after that, turned me away with my bad stomach virus and made me go all the way to the main hospital because I happened to be pregnant with triplets. But I like it because it is never crowded!

Here is Carter waiting for his stitches...

Anyway, low and behold the same wonderful doctor that treated me that time was the one to fix Carter's forehead :) This immediately put me at ease!

She did a great job of stitching him up (7 total!!!). Carter was a champ through the whole thing. He didn't even cry as long as we kept singing to him. I will spare you a picture of the actual stitches.

We go tomorrow to get the stitches out...now if we can just get him to slow down. I think we may need to get him a helmet. :)

More Summer Fun

We have played a few more times in the sprinkler...Evan and the dogs love it and I got some really cute pictures of him. Carter and Davis are not really interested, which is crazy to me because it is about a bazillion degrees outside.

Since it is so hot, we got them a new indoor toy...this pop-up school bus tent. They think it is hilarious...

At one point Carter took the wheel...

And it ended in an unfortunate rollover!

I'm pretty sure this thing won't last 2 weeks.

Man Toys

After seeing how much the Spanky's loved the sand box at Hadley's party, we decided they needed one. We got the kind that has sand on one side and water on the other. (I see lots of mudpies in our future0 These stand up ones are great because you don't get a bunch of sand in your diaper :)

They definitely love the water side the most right now.

We also got them a fun sprinkler for the hot summer months. They weren't too sure about it, so they approached cautiously.

The aftermath was not pretty!

But after that they were really able to get down to business: shirtless!

I think Carter just realized that sand doesn't taste nearly as good as it looks.

Real men also like to grill...so we got them a "man's kitchen". It's the BBQ Bistro set complete with barstool and umbrella. They like to cook up some grub and eat it at their new picnic table (a.k.a our dining room table)

Triplet Picnic

Okay again, we did a fun group event and I only have pictures of my kids. We went to Zilker Park with other triplet families in Austin. It was nice to finally put faces with the names of people I correspond with on our Yahoo Group.

Gigi and Papa came with us too. It is a good thing they came because the playscape there is a death trap! I don't think we will attempt that one again for awhile.

The highlight was the train ride throughout the park along Town Lake. The boys had a fun time watching the people go by and eating the snacks we brought along.

We ate an early picnic lunch and then played some more before it got too hot.

The boys were so worn out by the time we got home; I think they took a 4 hour nap!

It was hilarious to see so many Choo Choo Wagons in one place!!

Birthday Party of Firsts

About a month ago we all went to our friend Hadley's FIRST birthday party. It was such a cute theme: a morning PJ party with donuts and breakfast tacos! Needless to say Kyle and I were happy with the menu :)

The boys ate their FIRST donuts at their FIRST try at a picnic table! They actually sat and ate which is amazing...I was sure they would either run away or be on top of the table.

Then they played in a sandbox for the FIRST time.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, they played in a ball pit for the FIRST time.

As usual we were terrible guests, as Kyle and I spend all of our time corralling our kids. I didn't even get a picture of the birthday girl!! Ugh, next time we will do better. They boys did have a great time though, and hopefully we will be invited back this summer for a swim in Hadley's pool :)
