The boys are loving their new Lightening McQueen sleeping bags. Staying in our pj's and watching movies in the afternoon is one of my favorite things! Honestly, anything that allows me to stay in my pjs is a "favorite thing".
Boys, pay attention. This part is important. Maisie, stop staring down their snacks.
Seriously, Maisie, if you eat their snacks you will be re-homed!

House of Davis
Davis often talks of this magical and wonderful place that he calls his "house".
"At my house, I have a dog too but it's a boy"
"At my house, I have a mommy and a daddy but they are just little babies"
"At my house, we eat Wee-O's and they have lots of peanuts on them, so Carter can't have any."
"At my house, I have lollipops too, but I call them lollypoppies"
"At my house, the lollypoppies are red on the outside." To which Carter then asks, "what color are they on the inside?" and Davis replies matter of factly, "I can't tell you because this is just my house."
Here he is showing off a self-portrait of sorts...Spider Davis.
Carter has since come up with his own version. His house apparently has lots of cars that he bought with his own money!

Silly
Kyle: Hey kids, Mimi and Papa sent you guys some silly string...you wanna go outside and try it?!
Kids: Yay! Yes! What is it??!!
Kyle: Oh it's so fun, I'll show you!
Kyle: Here we go...
Kids: Yay! Yes! What is it??!!

Kyle: Here we go...
What sort of torture device of terror is this???!!!
Why do Mimi and Papa hate us??!!
I loathe strings of silliness.
Of course, only my kids would be afraid of something like this. They did finally warm up to it, but they have never asked to do it again.

Welcome Back Summer
And welcome back pirate ship...
After about 5 minutes of that they were starving despite having just eaten lunch. Why does swimming make you so hungry??
Evan isn't big on sprinklers, but he could spend all day in the pool. I can't believe by mid-May it is already hot enough for all of this.

Mother's Day 2010
My 3 bestest boys eating brunch (a.k.a. grinch) on Mother's Day. I am one lucky girl :) Next year, I am going to have to remember to actually be in a picture with them.

Seen & Heard: The Carter Chronicles
I guess I need to turn off the 24 hour cable news. Carter painted this picture, smashed it up, and called it "Oil Spill":
**********************************************************************************
You know how little kids say some words wrong and it makes you laugh because it is just so weird. For example, the boys say "grinch" instead of brunch. Well, Carter has one that I think should actually be a new word: lasterday. What he really means is yesterday, but I think it could mean: the day before yesterday.
**********************************************************************************
Carter is my most competitive one and he is especially proud of how fast he can eat. So, I often say yes you are a fast eater and then I try to name something that Davis & Evan are good at too. Davis chimed in with "like Evan is a good reader, and I'm good at fixing things, and Mommy, you are a good driver." Kyle just about choked when he heard that one.
**********************************************************************************
The kids like to use my cell phone now to "call people." The other day in the car Carter wanted it so that he could call Santa. His conversation went like this. "Hi Santa, I want every kind of toy for Christmas...pause...BUT I JUST AM BEING A GOOD BOY!!!" Hmmm, guilty conscience? Somehow, I don't think arguing with Santa is going to help his cause.
**********************************************************************************
Mommy: Carter, where are you?
Mommy: Carter.
Mommy: Carter!
Mommy: CARTER!!!
Carter: I'M ON THE PHONE!!
Seriously, when did we move into the pre-teen stage? I got a little nervouse that he actually was on the phone because their school recently taught them how to dial 911 (would have liked some advance warning on that one!). But luckily I fould him just playing with Hot Wheels.

They Come in Threes
You know how I am a sucker for things in "threes" right. Well it's not just me. The boys go crazy when they see 3 of anything.
"Look it's 'Carter-Davis-Evan' birds"
"I see 'Carter-Davis-Evan' doggies"
"Look it's 'Carter-Davis-Evan' birds"
"I see 'Carter-Davis-Evan' doggies"
Outside of Oma's house, this was immediately a "Carter-Davis-Evan" statue...
So the other day Carter used the bathroom, and of course he has to look in the potty after he finished his business. And of course he wants me to look too. That's when I noticed there were 3 little poops in the potty. In my mind I was like, "Oh no, please don't say it". But immediately Carter screams "It's 'Carter-Davis-Evan' poopies!!"
I just really hope this doesn't ever happen in a public bathroom...I really don't think I can take the weird looks.

Amusement
It's time to get in your time machine and travel back to about May 2010, because that is how long it has been since I updated the ol' blog. It's a good thing I don't have a real job anymore, because my performance/dedication is terrible - or "Troll" (for all you Harry Potter fans).
Anyway, way back then Gigi and I took the boys to San Antonio to hit a few hotspots.
First up was one of my childhood favorites, and even Gigi went there as a kid...
It is actually the oldest children's amusement park in the United States and opened in 1929. All of the rides are at least as old as I am, and Gigi swears she rode many of these same ones. Either way, it is just as awesome as I remember it!
Davis and Evan stepped up first to ride the ferris wheel...Carter was a little uncertain about the "famous wheel" and sat this one out.
Then it was onto the boats which was Evan's favorite. He and Carter enjoyed watching Davis to see if he was ever going to catch up!
Davis definitely tried to...
Next up was Carter's favorite, the Merry Go 'Round...
Evan wasn't digging the horses so we sat on one of the on board benches...
Over at the airplanes, Carter picked his color (deemed as such at birth)...
Then Davis picked his color...
Evan on the other hand has decided that his favorite color now is pink. (Definitely not the color we assigned him at birth).
I'm also not sure what kind of statement he is making about the longevity of brotherhood. In fact, I think he has Davis in his crosshairs.
Finally, they rode my personal favorite the heliocopters...Davis loved this the most too.
After Kiddie Park we picked up Oma to go to lunch. I was so proud of the boys for sitting nicely and behaving themselves the entire time at EZs.
The last stop was Oma's place to feed the turtles. Unfortunately, the turtles were not interested in eating the goldfish or the bread we brought. The boys weren't too disappointed though and settled for chucking big rocks into the creek.
Can you believe my 95 year old grandmother can make it down this hill much less back up?? She's a trooper, and the boys think she is pretty cool too!
