Easter Festivities

This is the first year we had The Spankys put carrots out for the Easter bunny. I am not sure they had ever seen one with the green on it before. I guess that shows you how often I cook fresh veggies :)

Of course Evan, the fruit monster, was more interested in eating his, than leaving it for the rabbit.

The next morning they tore into their basket of goodies...

and had some breakfast with their new bibs & sunglasses* ...

*For those of you keeping score, yes, I did give them those glasses last year for Easter, but then I was scared they would impale themselves. So, I stole them back and put them away for this year again!

Later Gigi, Papa, Uncle Jason and The Cousins were coming over for an egg hunt and brunch.

The kids love eating together at this little bitty picnic table!

The egg hunt was a hit as usual...

We tried to get a picture of them all together. This was the best we could do.

Then during our attempt at a family picture, Evan decided to lay down in front of us and have a tantrum. I was so irritated...I really wished at that moment that I hadn't forgotten the mimosas.

Finally, a Green Muffin

I swear Davis had been asking me everyday for a week to have a green muffin. I had no idea what he was talking about. (Although, his favorite/assigned color is green.) He just wouldn't let it go.

Anyway, the day Kyle's parents left we took the boys to our friend Hadley's 2nd birthday party. They had all sorts of fun stuff to do like an egg hunt...

and balloons...

plus breakfast tacos & donuts, so Kyle was in heaven!

Then the cupcakes came out. They were super cute little Easter baskets. Davis looked at me with the widest eyes and said "Look mommy, my green muffin!!"
Hmm, I am going to have to ask him who he thinks will win the NBA finals.

Here's a pic of the Birthday Girl getting after hers...no sense in dirtying up your hands :)

Thank you Mingo & Ocean

Okay, I am finally going to try and get caught up...so this will be rapid fire blogging.

Kyle and I had a great time on our vacation in Scottsdale thanks to the fact that Mimi & Papa watched the boys for 5 WHOLE DAYS! Of course we forgot the camera, so you will just have to trust me.

Apparently, Evan decided that their names weren't quite right, and he dubbed them Mingo (Mimi) and Ocean (Papa)...did I mention kids are weird? Anyway, Evan has not let it rest, but Carter and Davis aren't going for it.

Kyle's parents are basically saints for putting up not only with 3 two and half year olds, but also with my endless menu spreadsheets, schedules, training notes, etc. :)

The boys definitely miss you Mingo & Ocean and can't wait to see you in July!!

Sick, Sick, Sick

Has it really been over a month since I last posted?? I promise I have good excuses...

1) Kyle and I went on vacation (sans kids...woohoo!)
2) I had a mountain of laundry to do when we got home
3) I got sick
4) Carter & Evan got sick (while I was still sick)
5) Davis got sick (and still is)
6) I am sick again (seriously, what the heck?!)

I think we are all on the road to recovery though, and I will try to catch up on the posting in the next few days.

Kids are Weird

This is the Spankys new favorite pastime. It's called "Let's See How Much Crap We Can Stack in the Window Sill".

I'm sure the neighbors love it that they stand on the train table and peep into their house all day.

Our Own SXSW

The Spanky Bottom Boys got together last weekend for a little SXSW jam session. They aren't signed yet, so please let me know if you want in on this rare talent.

Here is the backstage warm-up. (Evan is checking on his net worth first.)

Carter is the front man...

Davis is the cool cat on the bass...

Evan plays a mean steel guitar...

"You guys have been great tonight...see ya next year!"

Even rock stars like a good bed time story with Daddy.

Cousins

My brother's kids came into town last weekend. The boys just love playing with them.Kyleigh is a great leader of this crew :) She set up "lunch" for all of the little kids!

I think Caleb was just happy to play with the power tools!

We all went to Rudy's afterward. Of course my brother's kids eat like champs and I have to pack a lunch of hotdogs, corn and mostly graham crackers for mine. No way are they going to touch a bean or potato salad or delicious bbq beef. Some day these kids are going to be begging me to take them to Rudy's (I hope!).
