Jeans!!

Is there anything better than wearing your new fall clothes??!! We finally had some cool weather here this week. So, we broke out the jeans for the Spankys. They thought they were the coolest things ever. They kept running up and down the hall yelling "JEANS!".

Unfortunately, the 2T's I bought for them were enormous...so Carter and Evan had to wear last years jeans (sz. 18 mos) and they fit great. Why don't my kids grow?? Oh, maybe it is because they subsist only on Goldfish and waffles.

Respite

Mimi and Papa came last weekend so that Kyle and I could have a night off. We didn't get many pix before Kyle and I bolted for the door :) Here is one with the boys and their silly cowboy hats. The Spankys had such a good time with their Mimi and Papa that they didn't really care when we showed up again the next day!

That's Carter somewhere under the red hat and Evan in the black hat...

We had a great time in Dallas with all of our friends. Oh, and I fell in love with the game Rock Band! I could have played that for hours. Thank you Mimi & Papa for the much needed break!!

The Starting Lineup

Every night before dinner the boys usually watch a video upstairs while we are prepping/heating/dicing their food. When it is time to release the hounds, they clamor downstairs. One of us (usually Kyle) plays defense on the stairs and the other waits in the kitchen to hand out the trays.

So, now when they get to the end of the stairs they insist on being "announced" like an NBA starting lineup while running down the hall and around corner into the kitchen.

Heeeeere Cooooooomes Carterrrrrrrrr!

When he gets to the kitchen he screams "Carter!", and I hoist him into the high chair.

Heeeeere Cooooooomes DayDaaaaaay!

Davis screams "DayDay!", and I wrestle him into the chair.

Heeeeere Cooooooomes Evaaaaaaaan!

Evan is usually laughing so hard that he just screeches and I swing him up high into his chair (he is light so I can do that!)

They think it is just so funny.

Here are some good spaghetti pix!

And yes, we still wear "My First Christmas" bibs.

Gigi & Papa's House O' Trikes

A couple of weekends ago, the weather was beautiful. So, we loaded up all of the trikes and headed to Gigi and Papa's house for some good flat terrain. It is just the perfect place for them to ride, with long driveways, and the entire street is gated so there is very little traffic.

This is the unfortunate downside of the first grandchild being a girl...

The Spankys didn't seem to mind though...hey, wheels are wheels. :)

Here is Carter already practicing for the World Freehand Circle Drawing Championship...btw that is a real "sport", and you should check out this guy here.

After we wore ourselves out in the front yard we went in the back to play with the fish.

What a wonderful day!

Goo & Jo-Jo

After 2 long years, the Spankys finally met our good friends Drew & Johanna (aka Goo and Jo-Jo) from San Diego. They came in for OU/TX. I'm sure the actual accommodations didn't live up to the brochure.

The boys were very good, but quite honestly it is overwhelming for anyone (much less people that don't have kids) to relax and enjoy themselves with 3 little monkeys running around. Also, the day of the game, our downstairs air conditioner broke...nothing like sleeping in a sauna after an emotional OU loss.

Anyway, Kyle and I had a great time seeing them, and we hope we can convince them to come again soon :)

BTW Drew, the AC guy came on Monday and all of the kids were calling him "Goo"...I guess because he had dark hair. Unfortunately, he was also wearing a longhorn hat!

More Time Outs...Pweeze!

The Spankys are doing their fair share of "time outs" these days. It is usual 2 year old stuff: hitting, pushing, throwing toys, pushing TV buttons, etc. Carter often get's put in time out for throwing sand.

Today we were all outside and sure enough Carter starts chucking sand out the sand box. I got up and told him he needs to go to Time Out. He calmly walked to the door with me, and then I decided to just bring everyone inside. It took me another minute to round up the other 2. When I came in Carter came over and said "time up, pweeze" and walked to the time out area.

Obviously I am doing something wrong! What kid reminds you to put them in time out?
Anyway, I appreciated the "pweeze". BTW he always calls it time up for some reason :)

Despite his temper and stubborn ways, Carter also has a knack for making us laugh. Here is one of his latest tricks...
