You Know What They Say About Texas Weather...

About 3 weeks ago, an amazing thing occurred...it was like 80 degrees during the day, and then overnight we got snow!

Do you see it? It's right there! Look again...right there, on the roof! Doesn't Davis look so big in this picture?

Carter on the other hand looks ridiculous with this paci in his mouth all the time. I decided that was it. I was going to take them away, but then I caved. We compromised on pacis only in the bed. I am not willing to mess with their good sleeping/napping habits :)

I just love Evan's eyes in this one!

2 Out of 3 Toddlers Agree...

Pampers are the best, but the Target brand are "good enough" (especially at 1/2 the price). By the way, why do I bother buying toys??

Get ready for a slew of new posts...I am catching up on my blogging :)

Stuck on Stickers

I gave the Spanky's some "Mick-a Mouse" stickers so they would sit nicely for a picture. I don't know how they became so obsessed with Mick-a Mouse, but I am thinking we may not be able to wait until they are 6 to go to Disney :) BTW, Carter isn't really that short, he is just scrunched down in the chair!

They really love stickers right now, and that is my secret weapon right now for solving toddler woes. Unfortunately, I find them all over the house stuck in the carpet. Oh well, a small price to pay for some peace and quiet.

Visit from the Oklahoma Posse

The day after Thanksgiving, Kyle's parents and his sister's family all came to hang out in Austin with us. As usual, we were too busy catching up for me to remember to take many pictures!

Here is one of the Spanky's rough housing with Papa Steve and playing with their hero, cousin Austin :) They think he is the coolest dude. For days after they left, they were asking "where's Austin?"

Evan for some reason was not lovin' his Aunt Kelly this trip. Every time he saw her he would close his eyes and say "bye bye"...we think it was the bright orange Okie State sweatshirt she was wearing ;) Sorry Aunt Kelly...We will try to show him pictures of you wearing something else to prep him for the next visit!

Perfect Thanksgiving Weather

Nothing makes you more thankful than waking up on Thanksgiving and knowing that 6 little kids are going to be able to play outside and not be under your feet in the kitchen!

It had been awhile since the Spanky's got to play with my brother's kids Kyleigh, Caleb and Kendall. And they all had a great time...

Evan on the trike:

Davis hanging out with Gigi...

Carter, the cycling prodigy (okay he wasn't technically pedaling):

Umm, nothing says "lets enjoy the outdoors" like a laptop???

Okay, now Kyleigh is getting into the swing of things...

Now it's time to change a tire. Oh, and Davis loved wearing Caleb's helmet! I may have to get them each one for around the house :)

Kendall is looking a little grumpy on her morning commute...

That's better...what a little cutie :)

We did the traditional turkey, stuffing, cranberries, etc. for lunch. Unfortunately, all my kids wanted to eat was rolls and we had to eventually resort to graham crackers...irritating.

Vegas, Baby!

Kyle and I were really stretching to find something new to entertain the Spanky's the other day. They were just so amped up for the big game, that they were unmanageable ;)

So, we got out the plastic poker chips and let them go crazy. Kyle tried to teach them the finer points of betting in No Limit Hold 'Em. I'm sure it won't be long until Carter is wearing a green visor.

Hehehe, in this one it looks like Davis is trying to catch Goldfish in his mouth, but it is just a spot of sunlight. Luckily no one has taught them that trick yet.

Gnome, Sweet Gnome...Sweet Gnome

The boys really stepped up this year and were good sports about wearing their costumes. We had a difference of opinion on the beards though. So, we compromised and wore them pinned to our shirts rather than on our faces.

We first loaded up and headed to the neighborhood party.

We definitely got some stares on our way over!

This was their first experience with livestock and they were not afraid one bit. Although, I was terrified of the chickens they kept wanting to pet.

While we were there one guy that he thought they were actual "little people" working for the petting zoo company...what??!

After that, we played in the yard and waited for it to get dark so that we could head out to Trick-or-Treat.

We actually let them WALK with us on the sidewalks which is pretty much a first for them as well. They were so good about holding hands. But because we were walking I have no pictures.

We went to about 4 houses on our street and in the nearby cul de sac. But Kyle and I had so much fun watching our little gnomes and talking with neighbors! I'm sure next year will be even better :)
