They Come in Threes

You know how I am a sucker for things in "threes" right.  Well it's not just me.  The boys go crazy when they see 3 of anything.

"Look it's 'Carter-Davis-Evan' birds"

"I see 'Carter-Davis-Evan' doggies"

Outside of Oma's house, this was immediately a "Carter-Davis-Evan" statue...

So the other day Carter used the bathroom, and of course he has to look in the potty after he finished his business.  And of course he wants me to look too.  That's when I noticed there were 3 little poops in the potty.  In my mind I was like, "Oh no, please don't say it".  But immediately Carter screams "It's 'Carter-Davis-Evan' poopies!!"

I just really hope this doesn't ever happen in a public bathroom...I really don't think I can take the weird looks.

Amusement

It's time to get in your time machine and travel back to about May 2010, because that is how long it has been since I updated the ol' blog.  It's a good thing I don't have a real job anymore, because my performance/dedication is terrible - or "Troll" (for all you Harry Potter fans).

Anyway, way back then Gigi and I took the boys to San Antonio to hit a few hotspots.

First up was one of my childhood favorites, and even Gigi went there as a kid...

It is actually the oldest children's amusement park in the United States and opened in 1929.  All of the rides are at least as old as I am, and Gigi swears she rode many of these same ones.  Either way, it is just as awesome as I remember it!
Davis and Evan stepped up first to ride the ferris wheel...Carter was a little uncertain about the "famous wheel" and sat this one out.

Then it was onto the boats which was Evan's favorite.  He and Carter enjoyed watching Davis to see if he was ever going to catch up!

Davis definitely tried to...

Next up was Carter's favorite, the Merry Go 'Round...

Evan wasn't digging the horses so we sat on one of the on board benches...

Over at the airplanes, Carter picked his color (deemed as such at birth)...

Then Davis picked his color...

Evan on the other hand has decided that his favorite color now is pink.  (Definitely not the color we assigned him at birth).

I'm also not sure what kind of statement he is making about the longevity of brotherhood. In fact, I think he has Davis in his crosshairs.

Finally, they rode my personal favorite the heliocopters...Davis loved this the most too.

After Kiddie Park we picked up Oma to go to lunch.  I was so proud of the boys for sitting nicely and behaving themselves the entire time at EZs.

The last stop was Oma's place to feed the turtles.  Unfortunately, the turtles were not interested in eating the goldfish or the bread we brought.  The boys weren't too disappointed though and settled for chucking big rocks into the creek.

Can you believe my 95 year old grandmother can make it down this hill much less back up??  She's a trooper, and the boys think she is pretty cool too!

Party Time

The boys went to a birthday party for one of their classmates last week.

The Spankys were so excited before the party...all I have to do is mention "juice", and they immediately go nuts.  Someday they are going to figure out I could buy it at the grocery store, and it isn't just for parties :)

Anyway, the party was at the neatest kids gym.   They had a great time swinging like monkeys...

Jumping like kangaroos...

And drinking juice :)

Oh, and having cupcakes...

Carter is such a good sport about eating what I make for him.  He tells every stranger "I am allergic to peanuts, and I have blonde hair".

Snug as a Bug

Once again, kids are just weird...but they sure know how to make their own fun.

Easter 2010

Thanks to Mimi and Papa, Kyle and I were able to sneak away to Dallas for a couple of nights right before Easter.  We had the best time with old friends, and the boys had lots of great adventures.

First thing Sunday morning they tore into their Easter baskets and started eating candy...

Then it was over to Gigi and Papa's for lunch and more Easter baskets...

I remember the good ol' days when I was a kid, and I got ONE basket with boiled eggs and some candy, and it was greatness. These kids are spoiled.

Then it was time for the egg hunt.  Davis, you better watch out, Evan is laser focused on the one in your hand.

This year I introduced Kyle and the kids to the Easter tradition of cascarones...because nothing quite says "Christ is risen" like a smack on the head with a confetti filled egg. Next year we will incorporate another age old tradition of the Easter pinata.

More fun Easter goodies from Aunt Jody....OMG they ate so much candy that day!  They have been overwatering my plants with those buckets everyday since :)

Time to run...

And finally, some pictures in the backyard...

Happy Easter, everyone!

Time to Make The Donuts Disappear

After talking with other moms of triplet boys (and just boys in general), we know that we have gotten off easy thus far.   The fact that they stayed in their cribs for over 3 years without crib tents *gasp* is all the proof you really need.   They really haven't gotten into much either, but then again I have mad baby-proofing skills. ;)

One Saturday morning after breakfast though, Kyle and I were hiding from the kids working on something very important on our laptops in our bedroom.  After awhile we realized it was eerily quite.

We opened our door to find the gate at the top of the stairs open and Davis on the couch.  He proceeded to tell us that Evan and Carter were downstairs and "I'm a good boy".  (He's going to be my snitch when they are teenagers...he can't tell a lie.)

We came down to find this atrocity.

They were quite proud of themselves.  To get up there they climbed up the barstools, over the bar, over the sink and onto this counter below all while holding their water cups and the stuffed zebra!!

You had to go for the chocolate frosted one didn't you, Evan.

We really need to put a bell on that gate.

Back to Nature

We have these awesome trails in our neighborhood (that we never go on because I fear snakes and coyotes).  When you are in there it feels like you are miles from civilization.  They are not Choo Choo Wagon accessible, so we only recently got up the nerve to take the boys for a hike.

Every time we came across an animal track they would try to guess what it was...apparently the neighborhood is overrun with kangaroos and turkeys. Anyway, they thought it was the most exciting day ever.  I was just happy we didn't see any wildlife except birds.
